Following the likes of the 2 Series Active Tourer, this 1 Series is now front wheel drive, something which will give BMW purists a cold sweat. For the rest of us, it really makes no difference and in fact the latest 1 Series is actually more predictable to drive (especially in the wet) while the benefit is more interior room.
